I “quit it all and became an accountant” (music royalty auditor in the middle of CPA licensure), but I still maintain a significant amount of interest in music. I like to find meaning behind each song I listen to – whether intended by the band or interpreted for myself.
I think Genius is going to become a very significant music resource, so I want to contribute in whatever way I can. Right now my focus for making song descriptions and annotations is on my favorite band (Fall Out Boy) but with enough positive feedback I may try and do research on behalf of several other bands (starting with DCD2).
I try and keep my annotations as objective as possible, and am developing a consistent format to be used on each description that I annotate. PLEASE CONTRIBUTE!!! If you propose an edit that is significant I’ll usually try and add it by the end of the day.
